Mindful Meditation in 5 Minute

This 5-minute mindful meditation can help you start your day focused and calm, so that if a problem develops, you can calmly analyze the issue and figure out solutions without being distracted by more stress or anxiety.

This guided meditation was designed to be read phrase by phrase and line by line. You can read this script to individuals or groups. And you can also use it privately in your own meditation sessions.

Let’s begin by getting into a comfortable posture.

Close your eyes gently when your body feels ready.

This time is for you. So take a moment to focus in yourself, your body and breath.

Take a deep breath in and out.

One more, Inhale. Exhale.


Begin by just observing your body.

Tuning in to the pull of gravity.

Feeling the points of contact between you and the surface you're seating on

How does it feel to focus on your body at this moment?

What do you notice?

You simply accept and let anything you notice as you observe this.

with no judgment at all

Just remember to be mindful.

Observe what is going on with compassion in your heart.

and allowing it to be.

Continue to do this with your breath and your body right now.

What do you notice?

Breath in softly and naturally.

Without forcing and without judgment.

Allowing things to be as they are.

as you remain conscious of your breathing and body.

with a feeling of empathy in your heart

allowing your awareness to expand.

to spread.

To include the area around you while closing your eyes.

Just able to sense the air and things around you.

You simply allow them to exist.

There's nothing to do and nothing to judge when you're just you.

It's fine if your mind wanders doing this meditation; it’s ok don't criticize.

Simply bring your attention back to your breath, and body.

You simply let things be. That includes you.

We now begin to allow our attention back to the present moment, becoming more and more conscious of bodily sensations.

By moving your shoulders, wiggling your toes and fingers,

Still being aware of what is, and carrying this knowledge with you when you gradually re-open your eyes to the world around you.
